Who is the Oak Cauldron and what are we doing? We are a group of like minded friends and family. Some are members of a Celtic Based Family Tradition. Others follow a solitary path. We celebrate the presence of Goddess and God in every living being. We celebrate the cycles of life - fertility, birth, growth, death, and rebirth. We work magic in positive ways, showing respect for each other, the earth, and those around us. As a group we choose to celebrate Beltaine in ways that support our belief system. Therefore, there are a few important things to make note of before you decide to register and join this festival: We will cut down a LIVE tree:
... for the maypole. The energy of a live tree that gives of itself to the community for this ritual is much more powerful, not only for us, but for the land the tree inhabits as well. There will be a Belfire:All lights will be extinguished in the camp. The first light will be struck with flint and steel to light the Belfire. All are expected to attend this rite. This is a FERTILITY Rite:In our tradition, the May Queen and her Consort bless the land and the community through their union. The May Queen and her Consort are 2 consenting adults over the age of 21. NO EXCEPTIONS. While we honor most types of relationships and gender choices, this is a Female/ Male based fertility ritual. We ask that only Women pursue the role of May Queen and Men the role of May King. We will have a Tantric Temple:...for consenting adults to enjoy. No One under 21 allowed! Please remember that "NO" means "NO. Any harassment will be dealt with by immediate eviction from the private festival site! Evening Main Fire:All ages are welcome at the daylight festivities, but EVERY person under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by a guardian, and complete the accompanying guardian form. NO CHILDREN under 15 are allowed at the Main Fire / Drumming & Dancing circle after 10:00 PM – period! Children 15-17 may remain if accompanied by their parent or legal guardian only.
